random word of the day: I CAN'T EVEN

random word of the day: I CAN’T EVEN

POL:
Ja nie mogę!
Ja tej!!! (exclusively in Poznań)
dosł. Nie mogę nawet

ENG:
I can't even express how I'm feeling right now.
I’m speechless.
I can’t process that.
I’m shocked.
I’m lost for words.

EXCLUSIVELY – wyłącznie (only)
to EXPRESS – wyrazić (to show a feeling or opinion)
SPEECHLESS – oniemiały (unable to speak because you are so angry, shocked, surprised, etc.)
to PROCESS – przetworzyć, zrozumieć (to understand, comprehend)
LOST FOR WORDS – oniemiały (unable to speak because you are so angry, shocked, surprised, etc.

 (1)
Girl 1: Omg, Did you see this Vine yet??
Girl 2: No! Show me!
Girl 1: *Shows her*
Girl 2: *Literally dying* Bahaha! Omg, I can't even...!

LITERALLY – dosłownie (metaphorically)

(2)
person A: "It was so awkward!!!"
person B: "OMFG, AHAHAHA!!! I can't even...!”

AWKWARD – niezręczne (making you feel uncomfortable when in a social situation)

(3)
A: Did you see Kayla's twerking video on Instagram?
B: Yeah, I can't even!

“Even’ also means “parzysty” (about a number that can be divided by two).
The opposite of “even” is “odd”– nieparzysty (can’t be divided by two

CORNY JOKE TIME  :D
(4) Why do white girls commonly walk in groups of three?
Because they can’t even.

CORNY – oklepany, suchy (showing no new ideas and not sincere; too often repeated and therefore not funny or interesting)

COMMONLY – często, zwykle (often, usually)

  1. W 4 minidialogu w żarcie który podałaś, even nie oznacza tego co przedstawiłaś w poście. Even to też 'parzysty'. A więc czemu dziewczyny chodzą w trójkami --> bo nie mogą parzyście (parami) a jednocześńie w drugim znaczeniu że 'nie mogą'. Tu jest taka dwuznaczność ze względu na różne znaczenie słowa 'even'
