random word of the day: YOU TWO GET A ROOM!

random word of the day: GET A ROOM! – nie przy ludziach (stop kissing and cuddling in public, go somewhere more private)

(1) Get a room you two love birds! We're trying to watch the game here.
(2) Dude, Ben and Misty are all over each other. They should get a room.
(3) "Get a room, you two! You're not the only people in here!" Thalia chuckled and winked at me. I blushed red as a tomato and quickly let go of Percy.
(4) "Oh for God's sake, get a room you two! You're making us all sick with your displays of affection," Sam announced as she teasingly stuck her finger down her throat mimicking the need to vomit.

to cuddle – przytulać się (to put your arms around someone and hold them in a loving way)
to be all over each other – praktycznie leżeć jeden na drugim (to kiss or cuddle in an overly passionate way)
to chuckle – chichotać (to laugh quietly)
to wink at – puścić oko (to close one eye for a short time)
to blush – czerwienić się (to turn red out of embarrassment)
to let go of someone – przestać obejmować, przestać trzymać za rękę (stop any form of  physical contact)
You’re making us all sick. – Niedobrze nam się robi, jak patrzymy na  ….
teasingly – żartobliwie, figlarnie (playfully)
to stick one’s finger down one’s throat – włożyć sobie palec do gardła
to vomit – wymiotować (to throw up)

PDA – publiczne okazywanie sobie uczuć
to handle – znieść (to deal with)
to put someone in their place – pokazać komuś, gdzie jest jego miejsce (to let someone know that they are not as important as they think they are)

Hi guys!

There are times when PDA, or Public Display of Affection, is just too much too handle. It’s ok to put the love birds in their place and tell them to get a room :D

As long as we hear it more often than we have to say it ;)

Hope you enjoyed today’s randomness.

random word of the day: SKETCHY

random word of the day: SKETCHY – podejrzany (someone or something that feels wrong and can’t be trusted; suspicious)

(1) I got a really sketchy job offer from someone on Tumblr. They need someone to deliver a package to Redlands Municipal Airport. You have to be 18 and drive.
(2) Her side of the story sounds really sketchy.
(3) Angel is full-on sketchy; she would steal the teeth out of your grandmother’s mouth if she thought she wouldn’t get caught.
(4) Not sure if this bag is real or not.  The stitching on the tag looks sketchy.
(5) I would stay away from this guy. He sounds sketchy.

her side – jej wersja (her way of interpreting something)
to sound – wydawać się (to seem)
full-on – completely/totally
stitching – szew (what connects two pieces of fabric)
a tag – metka, przywieszka (a label)
to stay away from – trzymać się z daleka od (to try not to be in the presence of someone)

Hi guys!

I wanted to write a bit more today, but my brain is fried and I can’t think of anything interesting to say ;) And, no, I haven't been too busy – I actually hate that excuse :)

I have, however, a recommendation for you: a vid of my favourite talk show host interview the First Lady Michelle Obama:

She's pretty funny and cool, isn't she? ;)

That’s all for today.

Have a great weekend!

random word of the day: A HAUNTED CORN MAZE

Hi guys,

Today’s word is a popular Halloween/ autumn attraction.
It sounds exciting, but judging by my only visit to a haunted house many years ago, a haunted corn maze would leave me psychologically scarred :)
What do you think? Do you have the guts to enter a haunted corn maze? :)

random word of the day: a HAUNTED CORN MAZE – upiorny labirynt w polu kukurydzy (a labyrinth in a cornfield featuring scary props and people dressed up as zombies, vampires, etc.)

(1) We go to the haunted corn maze every year - I don't mind getting lost until the creepy guy with the chainsaw starts chasing us.

(2) Haunted corn mazes are a fun activity for a group of friends who are too old for trick or treating and still want something fun to do on Halloween besides hand out candy.

(3) I just got back from a haunted corn maze, and long  story short, there were gory clowns with chainsaws chasing people, including little five- year-olds.  They were crying, and screaming.  I bet they won’t be sleeping for weeks.

scarred – okaleczony (injured)
to have the guts to – mieć odwagę ( to be brave enough to do something)
a prop – rekwizyt (an object used by actors)
dressed up as – przebrani za (wearing costumes making them look like)
creepy – przyprawiający o gęsią skórkę (strange and frightening)
to chase – gonić (to run after)
long story short – w skrócie, krótko mówiąc (without all the details)
gory – krwawy (involving violence and blood)
I bet – założę się, że (I’m sure that)

A CHAINSAW

See you in my next post!
